About the Artist

Like most artistic types, I was born with a knack for all things creative. Drawing was like breathing to me since I can remember. But one thing is to be artistic and another is to find a vehicle to express your talents in a way that can work as a business and makes you look forward to every minute of your work. Artistic lettering, for me, is just that.
My love for fine lettering began as a child when my father, a gifted artist, introduced me to the magic of seeing letters not just as letters, but as fluid, elegant lines and curves...like drawings. Thanks to his instruction, (and artistic genes), and many hours using computer fonts only to discover I prefer the organic feel of wet ink on paper to computer pixels, I fell in love again with this time honored and beautiful form of art.
I began as a working artist by illustrating and creating logos for various publications. I went on to work as a website designer in the early nineties which led to work as a computer artist, typesetting and creating computer graphics, primarily through ad agencies and magazine art departments. Although I did not have many opportunities to use my lettering skills, in my spare time I continued to enjoy practicing until I decided to start my company, A Bit of Ink, Inc, Inc. in 2002.
In this digital age, fine pointed pen lettering still endures through the hands of artists who study and respect the art of calligraphy. I believe it will always have an important place in the world of fine art. My specialties are the traditional pointed pen scripts such as “Copperplate” and Ornamental Script, but I like to experiment with new contemporary styles as well. I am a member of the South Florida Calligraphy Guild, and various other national calligraphy organizations. I’ve had many, many happy clients since I began A Bit of Ink because I enjoy working with my clients very much, and truly put all my heart into my work.
Thank You, and Best Wishes,
